The Photo is of a Cedar Waxwing in breeding plumage. Taken on Clingmans Dome Mountain in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in North Carolina. The photo was taken on June 5, 2013 I am an amateur photographer who specializes in all things wild. If it flies, walks, crawls or swims I attempt to capture it (as well as it’s unique personality) on film. My blog consists of ONLY original content that I shoot as I travel the United States in search of wildlife. I use cannon digital equipment.

I am a film Photographer in Atlanta, Ga. I shoot many different subjects, but I enjoy shooting nature, flowers, architecture, transportation and urban decay. I mainly use a Pentax K-1000, with Kodak Portra 400 or Fuji Pro 400H. Sometimes I develop my own B&W film using a Caffenol C technique.

Something I’ve learnt about myself between leaving high school and now (4 yeas later) is that there is a part of me that NEEDS to get away from the Western world every once in a while. There is where I find ultimate beauty and passion. There is where I find my inner self. I am an amateur and though I always say, I have no special interest, mostly I shoot flowers, trees and other things that can be found in nature, like simple grass or wildflowers. It’s the small details, or the play with the light that captures me. I only use available light.  Beneath the nature and landscape shots I do some architecture and a lot of portraits of my grandchildren.
