An upside down view of an underwater world.
This photograph was taken a few months ago while I was out on assignment for the Palo Alto Weekly newspaper. These are synchronized swimmers warming up in preparation for the first event of a long journey to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics. I was given seven minutes to photograph from the underwater window. The photo was published on the newspaper, the editor and staff loved it so I guess I did a good job :)

My work fluctuates between photojournalism/street photography and landscape photography. Two very different approaches that I find hard to distinguish, it has been said in different ways in the past but cities and the life within them are the “wild” locations where we live.
I embrace the ordinary and try to make a photograph wherever I find myself. Given that I live in a major city (San Francisco), street photography with my Fuji X100 feels like a natural choice ; however, I also have a passion for the outdoors so I often find myself out on backpacking trips with my tripod and my DSLR.
If I had summarize my vision in photography I would say I enjoy photographing the ordinary and hope that by doing so I can show others how extra-ordinary things can become once we stop for a moment and look at them within four frames. I believe photography can be a tool in appreciating simple aspects of our lives. If that’s true, then life can be pretty exciting.

I studied photography in Liège, Belgium.
I photograph mainly landscapes. I really enjoy to feel the human footprint in the nature. However, this feeling to see something unseen is incredible. I think that feel is an engine for the evolution of my work.
I’m working with medium format film camera and slr digital camera.

I am an amateur photographer and am interested in street, nature and landscape photography. I work with both black and white and colour and am currently learning new techniques with digital photography. I love exploring cities and think photography is a great way to tell the story of a place.

I visited Havana, Cuba in May 2012 in search of the legendary amateur boxing for which the country is reknowned. I spent 2 days at the Rafael Trejo Gym and a further day at the Olympic training facilities. The bond and respect shown between these fighters was truely inspiring. I gained an Associateship from the Royal Photographic Society for my panel of work.
My daughter Aurora is my inspiration. My goal on photography is that each person has there own concept of beauty, this is mine. I think the photo speaks for its self. I never use photo shop only natural beauty here.

Lifestyle portrait photographer from Minneapolis, MN
I am a young journalism student and self-taught photographer living somewhere in suburban sprawl a little over an hour outside of San Francisco. I shoot and write about the things that make Earth an occasionally fun, always exciting, and often heartbreaking place to live. When asked “what I shoot” I can’t really give a straight answer. Rather than doctrinally sticking to one ‘style’ of photography, I try to capture a certain emotion or aura in all of my pictures, taking in not just the image but the feeling of a particular scene. I use my art as a means of personal expression, but I also want to take it further, using photography and journalism to inspire positive social change. I want to change the world, one photograph at a time.
I am a filmmaker and photographer currently living in Laramie, Wyoming U.S.A. I just recently finished studies in English and French, and find that the elements of narrative metaphors that I cling to surface again and again in my photography.
