My name is Nick Maranga I am a recent graduate of The School of Visual Arts in NYC. I use a hasselblad 500c/m, I shoot both color and bw depending on the series though all film. I love to shoot the American landscape, one of my focuses within the landscape are oak trees. A mystical tree that the Ancient Greeks believed human life was derived from.

I met this man in downtown Little Rock. I usually go there a few times a week to talk to homeless people. I took this photo trying to adjust some settings on my camera, but ended up really liking the photo. He was showing me pictures of his family and he was talking about what life was like for him growing up.

Ever since I can remember myself, I was passionate about art. I have walked down various paths to achieve artistic expression, such as painting on canvas and digitally creating and editing images. That was until, two years ago, I discovered photography. It then became obvious to me that this is the means which enables me to express myself the most, which fulfills my creative needs.
My “instrument” of choice is a Nikon D5100 with an 18-55 lens, for the moment. I usually work with natural and urban landscapes, but recently I have started experimenting on male and female portraits and facial expressions.

Photography is my hobby (whether i’m any good is open for debate, but hopefully i’m learning?!?!).
I mainly enjoy street photography and nature. Most of my work is done in and around Brighton, UK, i have everything i need right outside my door.
I use a Nikon D50 with the standard 18-55mm lens and also a Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5:6D DL Macro Super zoom lens.

Born in 1968, in Brussels. I studied publicity & copywriting at Art College CAD in Brussels after which I have worked for about two decades as Press Officer. My photographic classes were at film time and digital photography was a whole new way to learn and to discover, with an experimental field so much wider. I have a strong taste for B&W, for lines, curves, textures, structures, shadows and dark images with a classic - some would say “old fashioned” - approach. Landscapes, nature or cities, are my best models but I like to play with the sun as only light source - when ever possible - for portraits and body shots too. Always learning a lot, experimenting as much as I can, trying to improve my skills and to go beyond the perpetual doubts about myself as main challenge.

I’ve recently started falling in love with boudoir and more fashion inspired work, my dream is fashion photography. I’m eager to major in photography next year because I have so much more to learn.
